A good man

I wanted to pay a tribute to a very well-known man.

On Oct. 12, Jack Eldridge passed in Florida. As you all know, he owned Eldridge’s General Store from 1978-2011. He was a good man, known for his morning coffee club and the best steamed hot dogs. But more important was our store family: Edith Bichrest Oliver, Belinda Farmer (famous for her holiday rum balls) and me. I was hired in 1987 — 24 years of working for Jack. He was always the gentleman and treated all of us as his other family. I just thought he should be remembered to all of our customers who will remember him.
