Lost on a Loop Trail: Just a little bit
"It's warmed up a little bit since this morning," I say to my daughters as Echo, the black Lab, strains at his leash and zooms us down Cundy's Harbor Road.
Walk on the left
We live in South Harpswell, close to the end of Route 123. This stretch of road is popular with walkers, especially in the summer, but it is also busy year-round.
Live Well, Harpswell: Community solar farms — hey, what gives?
Do you get those flyers in the mail for "community solar farms"? Do they sound too good to be true? I thought so, too. That's why I sat down with five friends here in town to take a closer look, ask around, figure out how the farms work and see how much money you'd really save.

Wish you were here: Postcards from Bailey Island
Bailey Island General Store has a rack of lovely Bailey Island postcards, and sometimes I buy a few to send to friends. Perhaps you sent a card or two this year and perhaps 100 years from now they will wind up in someone's collection.
Notes From the Mad Farmer: The account book of Capt. Andrew Dunning
Capt. Andrew Dunning, of Harpswell, was a master mariner and coastal trader who sailed his sloop Mary in coastal trade as far north as Cape Breton Island, Canada and as far south as the Carolinas.
