School board elections count

I am voting for Ryan Larsen for the Harpswell school board seat for Maine School Administrative District 75. Since moving to Harpswell in 1976, I have witnessed the importance of school board elections as a mother, a teacher, a PTO member, a community activist and now as a retired educator.

Perfect for a library

I understand that the Mitchell Field Committee is considering uses for the Administration Building at Mitchell Field if a donor will come forward to fund repairs.

Walk on the left

We live in South Harpswell, close to the end of Route 123. This stretch of road is popular with walkers, especially in the summer, but it is also busy year-round.

Join in! Is anyone else feeling pangs of anxiety as we enter yet another difficult winter season? I don't know about you, but I need a distraction — something positive and fun to focus on and help stave off those feelings of isolation, gloom and doom.

A holiday goose

Years ago, our Bethel Point neighborhood received a Thanksgiving visitor. A stunning white domestic turkey came to our backyard bird feeder, then sat with us on the patio that balmy November day.

Neighbors helping neighbors

I recently broke my arm when I slipped while putting my ducks in their pen at night. The pain was excruciating, and as soon as I was able to walk into the house, I knew I needed an ambulance.
