I enjoyed reading Joann Gardner's article about Marjorie Johnson ("Marjorie Johnson: Bailey Island's favorite poet," November) and I'd like to add that her book, "Songs from an Island," is, at last, available in a reprint edition.

I am writing in support of Verizon installing equipment on the new Mitchell Field tower in South Harpswell. I am not a resident of Harpswell.

The October issue of the Anchor included a letter from Alex Piper with a concern about property owners' liability. His letter raises a concern about liability that is inaccurate.

I'm a Bowdoin College student, born and raised in Woolwich. I believe it is imperative that young people in our Maine communities vote and recognize the importance of educating themselves on local and national politics.

I had the pleasure not long ago of driving Cheryl Golek door to door as she campaigned to become our new representative for Maine District 99 (Harpswell and the Cook's Corner area of Brunswick).

Regarding clammers' diminishing access to the shore because of new property owners, I'm curious why you didn't discuss property owners' liability.

Thanks to The Anchor for its two summertime articles keeping alive the issue of Verizon. Citizens must now take up the cause if Harpswell is to obtain reliable 21st-century communication capability.

The Harpswell Neck Library is looking for a new home! We have books, DVDS and computers. We envision a comfortable and quiet space to work in, perhaps with a meeting room where students can get tutoring.
