We need Golek in Augusta

I write in strongest support for the election of Cheryl Golek as our state representative for House District 99 (Harpswell and part of Brunswick). It has been my honor to serve four terms as your representative. As I “term out” and look to what we need going forward to best address our concerns in the Maine Legislature, I know how critical it is that we elect the candidate who will listen; the candidate who has the right experience and temperament to serve Harpswell with skill and commitment. And I know that we need to support the candidate who will work collaboratively, who will dig into the legislative process and the policy details.

Cheryl Golek is that candidate. Born and raised in the district, she brings lifelong knowledge of our area and our diverse population. She comes to this position with a wealth of knowledge and experience, having already served as the community member on a bipartisan state commission on housing and as a longtime advocate for important legislative proposals. Ms. Golek was also instrumental in inspiring and helping me successfully pass a bill that improves bus safety for our school-age children. I look forward to having her bring her vast experience to Augusta as our elected representative. She knows how to get things done and will hit the ground running in Augusta.

Please join me in voting for Cheryl Golek for House District 99. We need her in Augusta.

State Rep. Joyce “Jay” McCreight, Harpswell

Our starry night skies

Sam’s enthusiasm for the library

As past members of the board of trustees of the Cundy's Harbor Library, we would like to express our sadness over the passing of one of the library's former librarians and directors, Samuel Schwartz.
