For many of us, graduations can be both exciting and sad. While we are beginning a new chapter, we are also having to end another. It's been a long road for me to get here, but on June 12, 2022, I finally graduated from Mt. Ararat High School.

Go here. Go there. But wherever you go and whatever you do, go as fast as possible. If the speed limit is 70 mph, go 75 or 80. The need is always for speed. I don't know what 5G is, but I know it's fast.

It's July. It's summer in Maine and although the season (in my opinion) is not long enough, it is absolutely glorious. I don't know about you, but I want to enjoy every moment of it before those patio heaters have to be brought out.

If there is one point upon which we can all agree, it is this: Harpswell is endowed with great natural beauty. Drive around town and you will be rewarded with scenic views the equal of any along Maine's thousands of miles of coastline.

My gardening strategy used to be to plant a few things, throw fertilizer over my left shoulder, and hope for the right mix of sun and rain.

One benefit or curse of living in "Vacationland" is having friends and family from away visit you and stay in your home for days and days at a time.

This season encourages walking in the early morning hours. The air is fresh and sweet, and often filled with a variety of birdsongs. This morning I heard one of the defining calls of the area, the high-pitched tones of an osprey overhead.

It was a fluke, really. My husband and I were taking a walk on Lookout Point Road. I saw a sign that said, "Seams by the Sea." I thought it a clever sign and made a mental note.
