My name is Jocelyne Coombs and I received one of the Mingo Club’s grants last year. I appreciate what the Mingo Club does for the kids in this community. I also appreciate that their grant isn’t just for kids going to college.

This is a plea to dog walkers on our road. Although Johnson Point Road is a private road, we’ve chosen not to mark it as such and welcome dog walkers and pedestrians.

Some time ago, I came to realize there were many family caregivers here in Harpswell who were in need of support. As the town with the oldest population in the county with the oldest population in the state with the oldest population, the epidemic of dementia here is real.

This is a firm but respectful reminder that dog walkers at Mitchell Field must pick up after their dogs. Dog feces are not good fertilizer for grass. It is also unsightly and smelly, and no unsuspecting walker wants to step in it!
