Thank you for your excellent investigative reporting about the untimely death of my neighbor, Jean Appleby Johnson (“‘A loss that shouldn’t have happened’: Driver charged in Orr’s Island fatality had long history of OUIs, drug use — and kept driving for months after crash,” August). It was not only a tragedy for the Johnson family, but also for the whole community. Your reporting showed how the justice system failed. Tax dollars that were meant for the common good were wasted.
Keep up the good reporting so the people of the county and the state of Maine know the facts and can demand reform.
