Good Samaritans

As members of the Affordable Housing Working Group, we met with community members at locations throughout Harpswell. The most common sentiment was that housing is needed at several moderate price points: housing for young families who wish to put down roots; year-round housing for the fishing, hospitality and public service sectors; and opportunities for older residents to downsize.

From Kay and Bill Greenwood: "Dead-end road to success" (July) was a great article about an almost unknown business in Harpswell. I thought you would like to know the rest of the story as to how it continues to be a part of a much larger and ongoing picture.

I'm a board member and longtime supporter of the Orr's and Bailey Islands Fire Department and I'm grateful for the volunteers at all three departments. However, I oppose the building of a fourth station.
