Harpswell Naturalist: Deer time

While November may not be as eagerly anticipated as October’s foliage season, for many people it is a favorite time of year. As the days get shorter, our white-tailed deer population enters the breeding season known as the “rut.”

Coming to our rescue

Need another reason to believe we live in a great community? Well, here’s my Harpswell story: My husband and I were taking our 17-foot Boston Whaler out for the season on a beautiful early October morning.

MSAD 75 school board elections

Harpswell is part of Maine School Administrative District 75, composed of four towns — Harpswell, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham and Topsham. The school board responsible for what happens in our district is made up of members from each of the four towns.
