Brunswick's Region 10 Technical High School recently hosted more than 70 students in grades seven through nine for its Summer Career Academy, a week of hands-on activities and career exploration.

While Harpswell is the oldest community in Maine and Harpswell Aging at Home has "Aging" in its name, Harpswell and HAH both benefit from the involvement of multiple generations.

The Maine Coast Fishermen's Association, a Brunswick-based nonprofit working to support vibrant fisheries and healthy fishermen, is collaborating on a fundraiser with Matthew Barter, a painter and sculptor known for his works depicting fishermen and members of the fishing community.

The Harpswell Heritage Land Trust has received a $250,000 grant toward its purchase of the Tondreau property on Great Island. The campaign is one of 20 new projects across the state that will receive funding from the Land for Maine's Future program through a competitive grant process.

In November 2021, the Harpswell Board of Selectmen established a Comprehensive Plan Task Force to update the town's comprehensive plan and articulate a vision and action plan for the community's next decade or more.

Each year, the staff of Region 10 Technical High School votes on the recipient of its Citizen of the Year recognition. This year, the staff unanimously chose Orr's Island resident Barry Stewart.
