Rather than throw your item away, bring it to Repair Cafe Harpswell — a new program sponsored by Harpswell Aging at Home where a group of skilled volunteers will help you repair your treasured items.

“Activity friends” are the people with whom we share our passions for different activities, such as exercising, crafting and learning. They are one of the seven types of friends that experts say contribute to our well-being.

Do you remember taking long trips by car as a child? Maybe you were coming to Maine, maybe even to Harpswell.

As an early member of Harpswell Aging at Home, Beverly Prosser Gelwick helped bring the Neighbors Connecting program to life. She became a caller for the program, which seeks to keep Harpswell’s older residents socially connected.

Nothing says summer more than fresh vegetables with crumbs of the garden still clinging to their roots. However, not everyone has equal access to fresh, local, organic produce.
