More of a single community

This is a little late, but I must say that not a time goes by when I see a charcoal-gray Ford F-150 that I do not think of Bob Anderson.

We were subscribers from the earliest days. After we moved to Harpswell in 2013, I would stop by occasionally to visit with him. Such a gentle, well-meaning, hardworking soul.

I wrote a letter to the Anchor that appeared in Bob’s last or second-to-last issue, in which I poured my heart out about losing the Anchor. His words to me were, “I’m tired, George.”

I likened the Anchor to the Mountain Road bridge as a means to make Harpswell a little more of a single community.

Well done, good and faithful servant.

May he rest in peace.

George Cookman, Ewing Narrows
