Can’t walk safely on 24

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

More dangerous than swimming with sharks is trying to walk on Route 24 in either direction. To walk on either side of this winding road is dangerous, especially since some drivers speed, ignoring posted limits.

I suggest a dedicated walking path along one side of the road, allowing both safety and an opportunity for healthy exercise. That seems sensible.

Walk on the left

We live in South Harpswell, close to the end of Route 123. This stretch of road is popular with walkers, especially in the summer, but it is also busy year-round.
