The Harpswell Community Garden at George J. Mitchell Field has plots available for rent for the 2024 season.

The organic garden offers an opportunity for local gardeners who want to join a community of gardeners or simply don’t have a great space at home for gardening.

There are water spigots throughout the garden, which boasts a solar-powered well, a storage shed with communal tools, and on-site composting. Individuals and groups are welcome to rent plots to grow their own produce and flowers.

Plots are also available for growing produce for fundraising or donation to community programs. Rental fees are waived for those growing food for donation, and for others on the basis of need.

Volunteers are always welcome at the garden, especially to help grow and harvest produce for donation to the Harpswell Sharing Tables and Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention Program.
