Plea to dog walkers

This is a plea to dog walkers on our road. Although Johnson Point Road is a private road, we’ve chosen not to mark it as such and welcome dog walkers and pedestrians. Over half the residents in our road association have dogs and understand the difficulty of finding safe places to walk beloved pets.

Signage at the top of the road requests that dogs be leashed and their waste cleaned up. We even supply bags for those who may have forgotten theirs. Therefore, it’s disheartening to find piles of poop on lawns and along the road, and even more disturbing to see carefully knotted plastic bags abandoned by the side of the road or thrown into the shrubbery.

Sometimes, people forget, and we understand that; however, it’s beginning to seem like people just don’t care. Please, please, not only bag up your pet’s waste but also take it home with you.
