Calling Harpswell artists: Are you interested in welcoming art lovers and potential customers into your studio so they can see where the magic happens? Please join us for the first Harpswell Open Studio Tour this July 13 and 14. Whether you work with paint, clay, glass, fiber, wood or metal, all mediums are welcome. Galleries are welcome as well. Many thanks to those who have already committed their participation.

Plans include a site map that can be downloaded and printed, including a listing of participating artists and galleries. (The deadline for inclusion on the map is May 18.) There also will be a sign for each artist to place at their driveway plus more for major intersections, press releases to local media, and an advertisement in the Harpswell Anchor. In addition, we plan to spread the word on social media, and you can help with this by sharing posts. We will ask for a minimal contribution associated with purchasing signs and contributing to the advertisement, to be determined once we see how many artists plan to participate.

Our idea for an open studio tour sprang from the desire to get acquainted with the local art and craft community.  With that in mind, we’re hosting a “meet and greet” on Saturday, May 18, at Nancy Grice’s studio in Harpswell. If you would like to join the tour and meet your fellow creatives, please email lizstamey@yahoo.com as soon as possible.

Artists must accept any and all liability that may be associated with participating in the Harpswell Open Studio Tour. If you may need event insurance coverage, please consult with your insurance agent. Thank you for your consideration.  We look forward to meeting you.
