Harpswell Art Tour

Are you an artist in Harpswell who is interested in engaging with our community and fostering connection with other artists? We are a painter and a potter living and working here who would like to develop an open studio event — a Harpswell Art Tour. Galleries would also be very welcome participants.

We are planning this inaugural event for the weekend of Sept. 23 and 24 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 12-4 p.m. Sunday), keeping it simple and identifying any kinks to work out for the future.

A simple list and map can be created and made available to circulate via social media, and could also be printed and distributed as desired by each artist. In addition, we’d like to run an ad in the September issue of the Harpswell Anchor; its size would be determined by the amount of funds that participating artists may be willing to contribute. At this early stage and without a budget, signage will not be developed, but artists would be free to create their own.

If you would like to join us and have studio space where you can welcome visitors, email lizstamey@yahoo.com by Aug. 15. Please include your name, address and medium, and note whether you have enough space to accommodate another artist who may wish to participate but does not have a studio that is accessible to visitors. Artists must accept any and all liability for participating in this event.

Thank you for your consideration.

Nancy Grice and Liz Stamey, Harpswell
