Johnson poems back in print

I enjoyed reading Joann Gardner’s article about Marjorie Johnson (“Marjorie Johnson: Bailey Island’s favorite poet,” November) and I’d like to add that her book, “Songs from an Island,” is, at last, available in a reprint edition. In 2021 the Bailey Island Association, with the help of Nancy Johnson Jensen (author of “Bailey Island: Memories, Pictures & Lore”) and the generous help of Marjorie Johnson’s family, was able to reprint “Songs from an Island.”

The book is available on Bailey Island at Land’s End and Seaside Creations, on Orr’s Island at the Island Candy Company, and at Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick. Purchase of the book supports the Marjorie Johnson Scholarship Fund, an annual award given by the Bailey Island Association to a graduating senior from Mt. Ararat High School.
