Robert Modr

After a lifetime in music, Robert Modr passed away peacefully at his home in Harpswell on Feb. 3 at the age of 84. Bob began taking cornet lessons at an early age in his hometown of Stafford Springs, Connecticut, from a former pupil of John Philips Souza band member Arthur Pryor.

Paul Alexander Standridge

Paul Alexander Standridge, 87, of Harpswell, passed away peacefully on Dec. 28, 2023. He was born on March 22, 1936, in Monroe, North Carolina, to Lorene Cashion Nash and Paul Alexander Nash.

James Everett Smith

James Everett Smith, of Basin Point in Harpswell, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, Feb. 11. Jim was born on July 17, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Belva (Stoltz) Smith and Harold F. Smith.

Henry J. Korsiak

Henry Joseph Korsiak, 80, of Harpswell, passed away peacefully, with loved ones by his side, on Feb. 4. Henry was born and raised in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He grew up there with his mother, Minerva, and his younger sister, Barbara.

Gareth Scott Anderson

At age 89, Gareth Scott Anderson, of Harpswell, passed peacefully on Feb. 9. He was a lifelong resident of Harpswell. He graduated from Brunswick High School and enlisted in the Coast Guard. He served aboard the cutter Barataria from 1953 until 1957 as a fire control technician, receiving the National Defense Service medal.

Margaret Wetzel

Margaret Wetzel, 96, of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Harpswell, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 16 after a short illness. Margaret was born in Mount Vernon, New York, the daughter of Edward and Ethel (Bartlett) Phinney.

Jean Calderwood Wood

Jean Wood died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Oct. 2, just a month after celebrating her 101st birthday. As she would say, 101 and a ton of fun! And that she was.

Clive Hastings Tillotson

Clive Hastings Tillotson, born March 14, 1931, died at home on Oct. 10, 2023. Clive grew up in Brunswick. He attended Brunswick High School, then graduated from Bowdoin College (Class of 1953).

Francis S. “Frank” Mynahan Jr.

Francis S. "Frank" Mynahan Jr., 81, died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 2, at Maine Medical Center, following a brief illness. His loving family was by his side. Frank was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on May 16, 1942, the son of the late Francis S. Mynahan Sr. and Mary S. (Chibirka) Mynahan.
