Islands Community Church, on Bailey Island, is introducing a photography contest and calling photographers of all ages and levels of expertise to submit photos with the theme "Islands Community Church: The building, the spirit and the meaning."

Just in time for spring planting, Johnson Field Preserve on Bailey Island is about to become even more beautiful. Now that the Harpswell Invasive Plant Partnership and its many loyal volunteers have eliminated a large swath of nonnative wisteria from the preserve, it's time to bring in the natives.

Homeowner Catherine waited a while before she called Gina at the Town Office to apply for home repairs. Years before, Catherine had signed up for the Harpswell Aging at Home newsletter at the suggestion of a colleague at the nonprofit where she works.

Harpswell volunteers will hold a fundraiser for war-torn Ukraine for the third year, this time to send money to the city of Chuhuiv to replace hospital equipment destroyed or damaged by Russian missiles.
