The Federal Emergency Management Agency has published new Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Cumberland County. These maps identify the floodplains in Harpswell that are subject to the requirements of the town's Floodplain Management Ordinance.

After the town obtained ownership of Mitchell Field from the U.S. Navy, it developed a master plan for the use and management of the property.
