Harpswell voters approved $7.83 million in spending and the reconstruction of the town dock at Potts Point, but rejected a $5,000 contribution to a fishing advocacy organization in the second attempt to hold an annual Town Meeting at Harpswell Community School on Saturday, March 22.

The Maine State Fire Marshal's Office says it found a man's body while investigating a recent house fire on the east side of Bailey Island.

Harpswell postponed its annual Town Meeting on Saturday, March 8, as high-profile issues drove turnout that exceeded the capacity of the gym at Harpswell Community School. The polls for the election will remain open until 5 p.m., but the business meeting will be rescheduled and moved to a bigger venue.

Two volunteer leaders of Harpswell Aging at Home received the fifth annual Walter H. "Doc" Phillips Memorial Award from the Brunswick Rotary Club in September.
