Twenty-two third graders from Maine Coast Waldorf School in Freeport donned life jackets and, in two groups of 11, boarded Dave Moody's lobster boat Britanica on Oct. 9. They were there to help Moody and first mate Angela Coron haul two six-trap trawls and to learn about the lobster industry from people who make their living on Harpswell's working waterfront.

Mt. Ararat High School's Allyson Gilbert became a teacher because she was inspired by teachers. She still is. As a finalist for 2025 Maine Teacher of the Year, she is excited to have the opportunity to highlight the work of educators across Sagadahoc County and throughout her home system, Maine School Administrative District 75.

All her life, Betty Robbins dreamed of owning a gift shop. With the help of her husband, her children, and 100 local crafters, that dream came true when she retired to Bailey Island.
