Town, plowing contractor agree to 3-year contract

R.A. Webber & Sons Inc., of Cundy’s Harbor, will remain Harpswell’s snowplowing contractor through at least the spring of 2026.

The Harpswell Select Board approved a new three-year deal with the business on Thursday, July 6. R.A. Webber has done the job for the previous three winters. The contract includes plowing and sanding of all public roads, as well as numerous parking lots, bus turnarounds and dry hydrants.

For the winter of 2023-24, the town will pay the same amount as in 2022-23: $475,862. The contract includes a 2% increase for 2024-25, to $485,379.24; and a 3% increase for 2025-26, to $499,940.61. The parties may then negotiate an extension of up to two more years.
