Precious groundwater

Three cheers and five stars for the articles on Harpswell’s issues with groundwater availability, and a special award to John Gormley for his well-researched and well-written piece.

As someone who now lives next to a soon-to-be 12-home subdivision, this is an issue that is of special concern to my wife and I. I was very happy to see this issue explained so publicly and clearly. Harpswell needs to have many more discussions about the connection between groundwater, wells and development.

A good man

I wanted to pay a tribute to a very well-known man. On Oct. 12, Jack Eldridge passed in Florida. As you all know, he owned Eldridge's General Store from 1978-2011.
