Thank you to horse helpers

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Animal Control Officer Jim Bebarski and all the law enforcement officers, friends and neighbors, some known to us and some not known, who helped round up our horses when they decided to make a break for it very early in the morning on March 5.

Despite being afraid of water, Willow and her small sidekick, Harley (a mini mule), marauded their way from Ash Point Road to Stover’s Point, where they were dissuaded from running in the road with ample amounts of carrots. (Thank you, Lisa True.) We appreciate everyone’s patience, quick thinking, good humor, and help tracking them down and returning them home.

If they left any gifts in yards that we don’t know about, please let us know. We’re happy to clean up after them. And if anyone is interested in some very well-composted manure for your garden, we have plenty to share.

Kara, Craig, and Ellie Douglas, Harpswell Neck
