The local Casco Bay Flotilla of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has launched a new website to better inform and educate boaters.
At cascobayflotilla.org, interested boaters can:
- Request a free vessel safety check to ensure their boat is in full compliance with all federal and state boating laws.
- Review boater education courses (both remote and in-person) taught by experienced and knowledgeable Coast Guard Auxiliary instructors.
- Access a variety of resources for boaters and paddleboarders, including marine weather, tide information, and a chart highlighting marinas, boatyards, boat ramps, kayak access, public landings and more.
The Casco Bay Flotilla is part of the national Coast Guard Auxiliary. Established by Congress in 1939, the volunteer Coast Guard Auxiliary supports the Coast Guard in safety and security patrols, search and rescue, mass casualty events or disasters, pollution response and patrols, homeland security and more.
