A commitment to strong schools

Our community is stronger when we invest in our schools. As vice chair and finance chair, Ryan Larsen has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring that our schools remain strong and help attract young families to Harpswell.

Over the past three years, Ryan has taken on a broad range of issues essential to the future of our schools. He played a key role in securing strong and stable leadership of our schools by serving on the superintendent hiring committee. He has championed policies that create a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students.

He has prioritized transparency and data-driven decision-making, ensuring that financial and strategic plans reflect the real needs of our schools. His work has extended to the development of a 10-year strategic road map and a master facilities plan — both crucial for maintaining and improving our school infrastructure.

He has tackled the tough challenge of school funding, advocating for the necessary resources to close the gap between what the state provides and what our schools actually need. Additionally, his leadership in shaping a responsible technology policy recognizes the need to create an environment where students can focus on learning.

Ryan is running unopposed, but that doesn’t mean our voices don’t matter. This is a difficult and time-consuming role, and voting for Ryan is a way to acknowledge and appreciate his dedication to our schools and our children’s future. Let’s show up and support his leadership, reinforcing our commitment to strong schools and a strong community.
