The Harpswell Democratic Caucus will be held at Harpswell Community School on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. This is a free, legally required event, sponsored by the Harpswell Democratic Committee on behalf of town Democrats as part of the run-up to the November elections.

The meeting will feature brief talks by state Sen. Mattie Daughtry, D-Brunswick, and state Rep. Cheryl Golek, D-Harpswell; discussion of new initiatives to strengthen America’s democracy; information about mobilizing voters; social time; and the election of 20 volunteers to serve as Harpswell’s delegates to the state convention in May. Light snacks and alcohol-free “mocktails” will be served. The meeting should conclude before 3 p.m.

“We’re excited about this gathering,” says M.K. Brennan, chair of the Harpswell Democratic Committee, the four-person volunteer team that represents town Democrats to Cumberland County and the rest of Maine. “We’ll have a chance to get to know each other and chart an upbeat path for the challenging months ahead.”

All registered Democrats living in Harpswell are welcome to attend. Attendees can register as Democrats, at no cost, at the meeting. Attendees are asked to RSVP by Saturday, Feb. 3, at 207-200-7577.
