The importance of lobster

We would like to extend immense gratitude to the town of Harpswell for approving Article 7, which will allow the town to raise and appropriate the sum of $10,000 for the Maine Lobstermen’s Association.

Like many families in Harpswell, we rely on the lobster industry to make a living, but the industry is also incredibly important to Harpswell’s culture and community, and this type of commitment supports that.

In 2022, just about $30 million worth of lobster was brought over the docks in Harpswell, making this one of the top ports in the state. Thank you, Harpswell, for recognizing the importance of Maine lobster to our great town!
