Harpswell Auto Sales plans to move its headquarters from Great Island to the former Yankee Lanes bowling alley in Brunswick.

The used-car dealership aims to open the new location around March 2024. The Harpswell location will close at the same time, although the business will retain the property and use it for overflow vehicle storage, according to General Manager Josh Osgood.

Harpswell Auto Sales has operated at 248 Harpswell Islands Road for more than 35 years, Osgood said by phone.

The business will gut and rebuild the 27,000-square-foot former bowling alley at 276 Bath Road in Brunswick, Osgood said. The building will house the dealership’s offices and service department.

The business will expand the parking lot by almost an acre to make room for more vehicles. The property boasts 4.3 acres.

More space will allow the dealership to expand its inventory and its service department, Osgood told The Times Record, which first reported the move. The dealership will maintain its Lewiston location and a storage location in Topsham.
