The Harpswell Anchor is doubling its news staff with the addition of a full-time reporter. J. Craig Anderson brings more than 20 years of experience in journalism.

Harpswell Anchor staff members participated in a panel discussion about the future of local news at the University of Maine at Farmington on March 28.

The Harpswell Anchor is seeking a news intern for the late spring and summer of 2023. Junior or senior standing in a collegiate journalism program is preferred, but not required.

The Harpswell Anchor is seeking a reporter to cover the news in Harpswell, Maine, with a focus on town government and schools. The reporter also will cover breaking news and business news, write features, and contribute to longer-term projects.

The January edition of Down East magazine includes a two-page spread about the Harpswell Anchor. The piece, "Raising the Anchor," focuses on the newspaper's resurrection as a nonprofit in June 2021.

In its first year of eligibility, the new Harpswell Anchor earned recognition in 10 categories of the Maine Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest for 2021-22.

Harpswell News, the nonprofit organization that publishes the Anchor, is launching its 2022 NewsMatch program.

Jane Warren has joined the Harpswell Anchor staff in the newly created position of advertising and sponsorship manager.
