The Midcoast Wood Bank delivers free firewood to qualifying Harpswell residents during the heating season. Call the Wood Bank’s new number, 207-800-1658, to get on the delivery list.
The Wood Bank places totes of firewood at the Town Office to meet residents’ emergency heating needs. Volunteers restock the totes after an initial delivery on Oct. 15. To learn how you can help, please contact Katie Neal, community services coordinator at the Town Office, at 207-833-5771; or Nat Pulsifer, Wood Bank volunteer, at 978-500-2553.
The Wood Bank also needs log-length hardwood to reach its goal of delivering 200 cords of firewood during the 2026-27 heating season. Last year, the organization delivered 120 cords to 10 communities, including 15 cords to Harpswell. Call 207-800-1658 or email info@midcoastwoodbank.org to suggest hardwood sources.
The Midcoast Wood Bank is a tax-exempt, volunteer-run nonprofit organization. For more information, go to midcoastwoodbank.org.
