Deep support for education

As a parent of three girls, I want to thank the Harpswell community for its support of postsecondary education! As you may know, it is very expensive for kids to go to college. Thankfully community college has become more reasonable!

Last year I was able to go to the honors awards night at Mt. Ararat High School. What stood out to me was the number of scholarships for post-high school vocational training and college that came specifically from Harpswell. There were scholarships from the Mingo Club to American Legion Post 171 to others in between. Not to brag, but the Harpswell community far outpaced other communities in the number of scholarships offered! It does take a village to raise a child, and I felt so proud to be from Harpswell.

For me, it demonstrated the deep support our community has for education and our young people as they take their next steps in life. As a parent with school-age children, thank you! And as someone who always tears up when I hear the “Harpswell Song,” thank you for supporting all our kids.

Supporting Greenleaf for 2nd term

From Jay McCreight: Please join me in voting for Gregory Greenleaf for reelection to the Maine School Administrative District 75 school board. Gregory, in his first term on the board, has served our students well. Serving on a school board requires the ability and dedication to work hard and to work collaboratively. It's a team effort to bring about the best policies for all kids in the district.
