Santa Fund announces leadership change

The Harpswell Santa Fund is announcing a transition in leadership.

Evan Weston has decided to relinquish his role as president of the fund. He will continue to serve on the board. Mark Roesler assumed the role of president effective April 7.

The Santa Fund’s board thanks Weston for his 12 years of service and dedication. During his tenure as president, he took great pride in assisting community members in need. He was on the board when the Santa Fund became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and his knowledge of nonprofits enabled the organization to grow.

Roesler, the new president, owned and operated numerous businesses for 35 years until retiring and becoming a full-time Harpswell resident. Looking for a way to give back to the community, he started volunteering for the Santa Fund in October 2023 and became treasurer in January 2024.

He has brought the organization up to date with his technological expertise, making it more accessible and efficient for those in need. For the past year and a half, he has coordinated the nonprofit’s fundraising events.

Roesler enjoys meeting neighbors and helping local people. He is proud to take on the position of president and carry on the 34-year legacy of the Santa Fund.

The board now consists of President Mark Roesler, Treasurer Linda Roesler, Secretary Anne Wilkes, and board members Jodi Wallace and Evan Weston. With a combination of experience and new leadership, the organization looks forward to continuing to do great things for Harpswell.

The Harpswell Santa Fund distributes clothing, toys, heating fuel and food to residents in need. For more information, go to harpswellsanta.org.
