I wanted to personally send a big and wide thank you to everyone for their help after the Jan. 10 storm. To those who lent a hand during the storm, offered their boats, who used their boats, tools and physical manpower, thank you. To the landowners who allowed their properties to be used as access points, thank you. To the long list of people who have reached out through phone calls, texts and Facebook from near and far, offering help, resources and words of encouragement, thank you. To those of you who simply prayed for a positive outcome for not only me, but all fishermen who have been affected by this disaster, thank you. To the fishermen who took the time to help instead of working between the storms, my thank you to you all will never be big enough.
A special thank you to a few of those who immediately jumped into action to help retrieve my boat and ensured I had tools, power and support for as long as needed: thank you, Martin Ramsay, Henry Barnes, Matt Cram and Brian Moody.
Another big thank you to F/V Naughty by Nature — Noah and Terrance Kenney, F/V Max’d Out — Ron Lapointe, F/V Four Ladies — Tom Clemons, and F/V Miss K-Sea — Mike Cota, who ensured my boat made it off the shore and to Dolphin Marina, which hauled it out immediately.
