Strongest support for Chipman

I write in strongest support for the reelection of Harpswell Select Board member David Chipman. The duties and responsibilities of the Select Board are critical to a well-functioning, economically responsible town government. The ability to work closely with the other Select Board members, the public, and the town administration and staff is essential in accomplishing what we, the residents of Harpswell, need. Dave has proven his ability in this.

Having had the opportunity to observe and sometimes participate in Select Board meetings, I am aware of the commitment it requires to do this job and to do it well. The experience Dave brings to this work means that he has the benefit of perspective. He understands the varied needs of Harpswell’s residents and businesses, changes and challenges we have faced and will continue to face, and what is needed to make sure the town functions in the best way possible.

I have found David Chipman to be available and responsive when I’ve needed information on issues related to the town’s executive and administrative functions. These two duties are the stated responsibilities of the Select Board, and they are duties where Dave’s contributions have proven to be so valuable.

Please join me in voting to reelect David Chipman to Harpswell’s Select Board, either through absentee ballot (available now at the Harpswell Town Office) or at the polls on March 9 at the Harpswell Community School. Elections matter!

Jay McCreight, Harpswell
