To thank the community for its years of support, the Orr’s and Bailey Islands Fire Department is inviting everyone to an all-day celebration on Saturday, July 29. The day’s events will be a repeat of some of last year’s most popular events, which stretched out over the summer. The summer celebration will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Orr’s Island station, 1600 Harpswell Islands Road, Orr’s Island.

A fun run will start at 9 a.m. The cost of $25, or $15 for children 12 and under, includes a T-shirt. Runners can register and choose their shirt size at obifd.org. Runners will follow the new pumper truck from the Orr’s Island station over the Cribstone Bridge to the Bailey Island station and back. Coffee and cake will be served upon their return.

Free events will include tours of the new truck, an art show and silent auction at the Orr’s Island Schoolhouse, and a barn sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m., a car show will commence across the street from the station.

There will be live music throughout the day, as well as food trucks and coffee available on-site. Anyone wishing to showcase their wares or services may rent a table for $20.
