Multiple vehicles vandalized Saturday on Orr’s and Bailey islands

An unidentified individual or group appears to have broken the windows of four unoccupied vehicles on Orr’s and Bailey islands on the evening of Saturday, June 17, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s Office Patrol Capt. Kerry Joyce said nothing was reported stolen from the vehicles, and that the window-breaking incidents appeared to be purely acts of vandalism. He said no suspects had been identified in the case as of Wednesday, June 21.

Contrary to some reports, Joyce said there was no evidence of a firearm being involved in the incidents.

“It looks like rocks were tossed through the windows,” he said via email.

Joyce said he was unable to provide further specifics on where the incidents took place, such as the streets on which the vehicles were parked.

He asked that anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area on Saturday evening call the Sheriff’s Office at 207-893-2810, press 0 and ask for Deputy Todd Mcgee.
